Sir Harry Paget Flashman is a fictional character originally created by Thomas Hughes (1822-1896) and further developed by George MacDonald Fraser in his series of books, 'The Flashman Papers' in which the eponymous antihero is frequently escaping from danger. Intrinsically he is a terrible coward, however fortunately when he is frightened his face turns red leaving onlookers to assume that he is excited or enraged.
