Jean Nicolas Arthur Rimbaud (1854-1891) was a French poet and known for his influence on modern literature and the arts even though he had stopped writing by the age of 19. In his later years he became a fugitive poet, a wandering merchant in Abyssinia (now called Ethiopia) and, it is rumoured, a gunrunner.
