Dooze Storey was born in 1972 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. She studied Fine Art at Chester College and Staffordshire University. Later she moved to St Ives, Cornwall where she had her first solo show at The Salthouse Gallery in 1995, followed by a further solo exhibition at Galeria Punkt, Gdansk, Poland in 1996.
Mixed exhibitions have since included David Holmes Contemporary Art, Peterborough, Collyer Bristow Gallery, London, The Millinery Works Gallery, London, The Millenium Gallery, St Ives and The Belgrave Gallery, St Ives.
Dooze left Cornwall in the late 1990s to live in a remote shepherd's hut in the Corbieres region of France. The hut was without running water and electricity; here she continued to paint, finding a much deeper connection with the landscape.
She has since returned to St. Ives. However, the French experience influenced a decision to step back from showing paintings and instead to focus on developing a large body of work - some of which can be seen at Cricket Fine Art.
